So i have a question. What did or will most of your girls do…
My wedding starts at 4:30 and then reception from 5-10
I wanna do the getting ready pictures
Bridal party pictures
and 1st look bride and groom + bride and groom shots
all before the wedding starts. Do i need to add on 2 to 3 hours on top of my 6 hours or what do you think?

more than that! my photog wanted 1.25 hours for the bridal party alone. Plus he spent about 45 minutes with just my husband and I for the “first look” and our bride/groom portraits. Then if you want him to take your getting ready pics that’s probably another 1-2 hours. So I would say add 3 – 4 hours.

Haha… Im not to crazy on getting pictures when getting ready. Like i want someone to take a pic of her faking doing my makeup… since i need my face done for the pic because i have bad acne lol and then maybe a pic of my hair getting done.. Us relaxing, getting dressed etc. So im thinking 30 mins tops for the get ready shot. I just want to have enough time for the bride and groom and then wedding party. We shall see … we have two photographers so its might work out on 3 hours.

when are you taking family pics? My photog wanted 45 minutes for those too, in addition to the bridal party pics. Just something to consider. And my photog’s estimates were correct – that is how long all the photos took us on our wedding day. We were even running a little late with the photos.

is your photographer going to be taking pretty shots of your dress/shoes before you put it on? then you’d want to add that onto your time during your getting ready time too. at first i was all about not having a lot of photography time to save money, because we’re just having a dinner and no dancing. but ours comes with 10 hours and now i’m really happy about that because i won’t have to worry about him missing anything.

my ceremony was at 5, reception 6 to midnight. I had photog come at noon to photograph my shoes, ring dress, programs, etc. I didnt care too much about getting ready shots (hair/,makeup) she got a few but I wasnt that interested in those. We did our first look from 2-3:30, then BP and some fmaily from 3:35 to 4:45. So depending on the number of photos you want and non-person shots (rings etc) youll need at LEAST those 3hours, probably more.

Oh ok thanks ladies! I thought 3 hours extra should be enough… but maybe i should do four?
What about durring dinner time. We are purchasing a meal for all vendors. Durring that time they will eat and not take picutres would that be considered a hour taken away from the 6 or should we still include it?

Your photographer can only answer those questions. Ask him/her about coverage time and inclusions. -Ian
