Okay crafty ladies, I’m making a “cake pop” stand (really a s’mores on a stick stand) and needed some help.
Here’s my idea and supplies!
- ~11x9x1 piece of styrofoam
- 12×12 decorative cardstock
- my trusty awl
I plan on covering the styrofoam with the paper & don’t think that will be too hard thanks to the awesomeness of modpodge BUT what I’m not so sure about is…
How far apart should I make my holes? I of course what to make as many as I can & I don’t want them to be too crowded. So what do you wonderful ladies suggestion?
1 inch? 1.5 inch? or 2 inch?
Here’s a pic to show kinda what I’m going for

Cute! I would probably take a marshmellow and then put them on the styrofoam to measure how far apart they could be and still look good. I think if they were touching when you sat them on the styrofoam it would look good, becuase when you put the sticks in them they will move around a little. Then just mark the middle of the marshmellow and put the holes there!
Hope that helps!

I would measure the diameter of the marshmellow. Lets say it’s 5cm. Then, I would calculate the radius (ie r = d/2), and add that as the “buffer” space, between the marshmellows.
So if the diameter was 5cm, then you’d need 2.5cm in one direction for the first marshmellow, then a buffer of 2.5cm, and then 2.5cm for the next marshmellow.
Really, I’d say measure the radius of the marshmellow, and call it “x”. Then, make your holes 3X apart.
