(Closed) need help negotiating venue items

It really depends on the venue, and if you’re already at the minimum, they may not be willing to waive many fees.  I know our venue does not really adjust their set pricing.  The only way I was able to get discounts is by actually eliminating stuff from the package (no meat, serve only wine and beer, etc…).  If they are a popular venue and feel that they can get someone willing to pay full price, there is not a lot of negotiation room.  You can always ask, but if you really want the venue, you may just have to pay what they request.

Hmmm… interesting.  I’ve found that it is easier to negotiate with individual vendors rather than a packaged vendor.  I would skip the chair covers — I hate them because I always slide off of the chairs they are on!

Flowers, DJ’s, and photographers are fairly easy to negotiate with.  I worked out individual deals with each.  I even got $200 off the price of my wedding dress.
