Are you open to giving them a selection of paint chips and finding their own dresses?

You can still give them some restrictions like length, fabric etc.

Is this the sort of dress colour/style you have in mind.  I love Alice in Wonderland. I will follow your posts and see how it all comes together.

@madteaparty:  you can tell them that you have the right to refuse their choice. It’s easy enough to email you a link or a pic of the dress before they buy it. This way there is no hassle about the dresses, each girl gets to choose a style that suits her and that she will likely wear again.

My suggestions are as follows:

Chiffon or other light fabrics. These look great on the skinny girls (what doesn’t) but also on the larger ladies. Unlike Satin, it’s less likely to make the bumps and bulges as noticable

Opt for a short dress with straps that are wide enough to hide bra straps. If you have larger breasted ladies in your party they will thank you for this. Alternative, is a halter or one-shoulder number and you’re girls can get creative with their convertable bras!

If going for a dress with straps, opt for a V neckline. This elongates the neck and thins the appearance of the face (who doesn’t want that?)

Classic A-Line dress! Universally flattering on all body types and if you choose a chiffon fabric as mentioned above they have lovely flow. The bodice makes breasts, big or small look great and the skirt hides a multitude of sins (whether tummy or hippy in nature

Because you’re opting for an Alice in Wonderland theme, I would also try to incorporate some sense of whimsy in your style…a flower accent or some interesting detail.

Hope this helps
