- Wedding: June 2013
Okay, so long story short one of my friends just got engaged a few weekends ago. They have decided to have a super short engagement and get married in May. Im a little frustrated because my wedding is in June, and she is a bridesmaid in my wedding. She asked me to be Maid/Matron of Honor (I accepted..but this was before they set the date to May). So anyways basically Im planning my wedding and helping her do hers.
Buts that all beside the point. She wants to go to the beach for a bachelorette weekend. I looked up hotels and found one that is willing to give us an AWESOME rate if we book ASAP. Im talking rooms with a balcony that over look the ocean, and you step outside and you are on the beach. A suite with multiple king size beds. Something we could never afford during busy season but they are willing to give us a group discount rate since were booking right before peak season starts.
I told the girls Jan 1st that I needed the money to put a deposit down to book the room ($80) and RSVPs by Jan 13th. Well they all said there were going to come at first, but I have yet to hear anything since. I sent out a friendly reminder about paying since I know everyone’s beyond busy but no has responded to that either. Im getting kind of nervous especially since I jumped the gun a bit and purchased awesome favors, decorations, etc for the rooms & girls since one of the brides favorite stores was having a huge sale. They all said they would come the first time…but they have been known to do this, say they’ll show up and then cancel last minute (which is why I am having them put down a non-refundable deposit NOW).
Sorry this is kind of long. But I really don’t know what to do. Do I send another facebook message, call the girls, what? I really need to get her stuff planned and out of the way since I have so much stuff left to focus on for my wedding.
If I do send them another message, does anyone have any ideas how to word it so it doesn’t sound rude?
