Ok Bees! I am having a serious panic attack over my dress. I bought my dress last February. Its a sottero and midgley dress called loretta. The detail is absolutely gorgeous. One minute I love the dress and the next minute I am having second thoughts. I have always wanted a ball gown type wedding dress but recently I am wondering if maybe I should have gone with a fit and flare or a mermaid. I could really use your guys opinion. I want you to be honest. Im not sure If I should go try on other dresses or not. I am tall an have a pretty small frame and almost feel like my dress just kind of swallows me up. In this picture I have the biggest slip on underneath my dress. I have now decided if I stick with this dress I will most likely were a much smaller slip under it so it doesnt look so puffy. Please be honest. Thanks!

I think its stunning! I see what you mean about it being a little big for your small frame BUT i think with a little less puffiness from the giant slip it will look wonderful and perfect!

Personally, I love it on you. I think the bodice ends at just the right spot on you, showing off your great figure! And I don’t think it’s too poofy, but if you do, go try it on with different petticoats till you love it. There’s nothing wrong with that!

I think it’s stunning on you!

It has everything you want all in one girl! It’s got a big skirt like a ball gown but a drop-waist to show off the curves like a mermaid or fit and flare would…best of both worlds! Stunning choice!

It’s so, so gorgeous! I really love it !

You look beautiful! I agree that this dress has the best of both worlds. A little bit of poof and a fitted bodice. I don’t think it swallows you up at all. You look like a bride!

You look FANTASTIC! the top part is tight and very flattering. Go with your instinct. EVERYONE has dress regret a little! Totally normal.

I think the dress is beautiful and very flattering on your frame! Maybe a smaller slip if you feel like it’s overpowering you?

I think you have exactly the lovely, tall, graceful figure to pull off a look like this…and I don’t really think it looks too poofy, even with the fuller slip. Maybe try it with the smaller slips to see if it hangs the way you want, but don’t be afraid to go ahead and wear the big slip if it seems to work best that way.
One thing I really like about Maggie Sottero and Sottero and Midgley dresses is that they almost always seem to be well-balanced. If there’s a poofy skirt, then there’s enough detail on the top to draw the eye and make the whole dress look just right. Your dress is GORGEOUS, and it looks FABULOUS on you. You made a great choice!

I’m all for mermaid dresses if you have a great figure. Why not show it off in the most important dress you’ll ever wear?!

Thank all you ladies soooo much. You really did help ease my mind. I just got so worked up thinking that maybe there was another dress out there for me. Like a more sexy dress I guess you could say? I do love this dress and I know it will be perfect on my wedding day. once I have my hair, makeup, veil, shoes etc. I think I will be in love with it all over again.
Next fitting I def think I mighy try on a smaller petticoat. Just to see the different look of it.
@pengoala @cirk yes this is the same dress as treejewel19’s dress. I saw her photos and they were stunning! She looked amazing in this dress. I hope to look that amazing on my wedding day.
I really appreciate all your comments! They all made me smile and feel confident in this dress 🙂
