@ERM115:  I have a size 7 finger. I’m tall and pretty slender, but just have big feet and hands. My diamond is just over 1ct… And, I absolutely think that my large fingers make the diamond look smaller than it would look on someone with even a size 5 finger. However, I used to have a three stone setting with just under 3ctw, and it was WAY too bulky for me (my big finger + big ring=too much!), and I got the center stone reset to a solitaire as a result. This size is perfect for me… Not too bulky, but not too small, either.

ETA: Also login to Pricescope. I think they have a search feature where you can search for real photos of rings in the finger size and carat weight you are thinking about. : )

@ERM115:  .75 -.90 is a great size for a size 8 finger.

My centre diamond is 0.9 ct and I a 4.25 finger. I think it’s a pretty good size for my finger!

@ERM115:  Personally I prefer solitaires to be on the dainty aside; I have a size 5.5 finger and had I gone for a solitaire I wouldn’t have gone bigger than 0.65ct.

I think a 0.75-0.9 will look great 🙂

I’m a size 5.5 but used to be a size 7. This is a .65 ct marquise. I love that no one would ever guess it’s under 1 ct!

I think that’ll be a great size! Mine’s a 0.7 center stone on size 6.25 finger.

Size 7 – Center stone is .5 carat.

If you are going for bulk, you can always look into a cluster set. Originally that is what I had but decided to upgrade because my sensitive skin didn’t like the 10k gold. That ring was $299 and the one I wear now was $899, but the size of the center “stone” is the same, only from far away could you tell that the cheaper one was actually a handful of smaller stones. Here is a pic of my original e ring. All from zales.
