try the csuf alumni house!! http://www.fullerton.edu/alumni/house/index.asp? I got married there march 19th this year- and i was also afraid of the rain! The day could not have been more perfect!! The rates at the alumni house (aka george g. golleher alumni house) is charged hourly. If you're a csuf alum, you get a discount. You can also bring in ur own caterer and alcohol. My photographer blogged some photos of our wedding - you can check it out here:

If it does rain, you can still utilize the same space, but just have a back up plan- i.e. get a tent to cover the patio. Good luck!!
The Hacienda in Santa Ana is supposed to be very affordable. A friend of mine was married there and raves about everything.
The Heritage Museum/House is vintagey and could be a very cool rustic location. It's beautiful. It did rain on my friends' wedding here but a tent saved the day.
The Jones Victorian Manor isn't the cheapest but it's all inclusive and beautiful.
Kindred Community Church is very affordable with a beautiful outdoor setting.
Orange Hill Restaurant does weddings and receptions but I have no idea of the pricing.
Culver Events Center
Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden at Cal State Long Beach
Angelo & Vinci's Italian Restaurant in Fullerton
The French Estate in Orange (on Batavia). I think this is one of the MOST cost effective from what I've been hearing from other brides lately. The most for the price as well.
I'm an Orange County based wedding photographer. I'm still in my first year and am willing to work with a wide range of budgets. If you're still in the market for a photographer, I hope you'll take a look! http://melissa-munding.com
Good luck with your venue search, I hope this helps!

This may be too far but look into moorpark, ca...specifically tierra rejada walnut grove ranch. It is secluded, outdoor, rustic, and tons of beautiful trees!

I need help finding wedding venues!
I live in orange county california, and I was planning on having an outdoor wedding in March of 2011, but the chance of rain always makes it risky doing the wedding outdoors, which is what I really wanted. I am also on a budget, hopefully under $5,000 for location and catering or food.
It is really hard to find a reasonable place in OC that is not way expensive.
I originally planned on having my ceremony at the Fullerton Arboretum, but if it rains, i would have to move it under this big ugly gray structure and I really don't want to do that, so I'm looking for a new location to do my ceremony and reception. I am open to places all over California, as there are family in north and southern cali.
I just want a reasonable location that has outdorrsy elements or possibly some rustic features as well so it will be naturey inside.
I already have my wedding dress, and it is Maggie Sottero called "Megan", and it looks very gardeny like a fairy, so I wanted to stick with this theme.
I am open to having a wedding brunch instead of dinner, to save some money.
Any help I can get would be sooo great!
