    Hi Fellow Bees -

I am trying to sell my wedding dress from my Summer 2011 wedding without much luck. It is Priscilla of Boston/melissa Sweet style Talita. I paid over $3000 for it and would be thrilled to recoup $1000 back (66% discount). I have had no luck on multiple websites - ebay, wedding bee, recycled bride, preowned wedding dresses, once wed, etc. I have tried reducing (and reducing) my price but still no luck :(

It is a great dress, very flaterring, etc that I would love to pass onto another bride, but not sure how low I want to go.

Any advice selling from other brides out there?

    Thanks!

Make sure you have great pictures of it up and list the measurements. The size of the dress also might be an issue if you're not a popular size.

I bought my dress on ebay!

Make sure you list the dress # in the title, use plenty of pictures of the ACTUAL dress and possibly the designer's image and as many details as possible (color, size, altererd or not, your height, your bust/waist/hip measurements, and damage or dirt, etc). Having the ability to try on the dress is also a draw, especially at that price.

To be totally honest, though, a lot of the people looking for used bridal gowns have very small budgets. I wanted to spend no more than $500 and ebay allowed me to do that!

You could also look at Craigslist.org and do a free ad there, but you will have to replace the ad every week.  $1,000 may be too much for a used gown, but place the ad each week at a different price and see what kind of bite you get.

    Saw the dress, very pretty.

I would make sure to add any measurement details (yours will do) and height (with shoes). For me it was impossible to find a used dress that would accomodate my height with shoes so I opted to purchase a new dress instead.

    Best of luck!
