have you thought about gluing the scrabble tiles down? or you could do them around the outside of the vase ๐Ÿ™‚

Could you attach the scrabble pieces to the inside of the jar with a water proof clear glue?  or glue a stone to the back of each one?

Glue fishing weights to the back or bottom of them. I’d imagine a hot glue gun would work well!

I like the idea the PP had about doing them around the vase.  Maybe guests will want to play with them and do some creative things.

You could use a smaller cylinder vase or even a larger glass inside the vase to hold the water.

The scrabble tiles then can be placed in the space between the two vases.

if you use water beads and fill vases with water as well, the water beads will ‘disappear’ but allow you to place scrabble tiles ‘floating’ throughout the vases.

@midwestkemp: I second the water beads. The density will hold the pieces down but you cant really see them with it full of water. I just used these for my friends wedding flowers and they are awesome.

I was also going to recommend putting a vase inside of a larger vase and filling the inner one with tiles and scattering the scrabble tiles in the outer vase.

I actually love the idea of them scattered around the outside of the vase.  I can just picture people spelling out cute words or phrases!  ๐Ÿ™‚

Another idea, you can glue them to a wire and twist it around so they look like they are floating in the vase.  You can get a colored wire if it would work better.   Just a thought.

Could you tie a ribbon around the band on the jar, and leave long streamers on teh outside with the scrabble tiles glued to the ribbon with either love words or randomness?  If you didn’t have the right letters, you could turn the tiles over and re-letter them, or get stencils or stick on letters so they’d say what you wanted.
