If it were up to me, I would choose Oct over July. I hate the humidity and would prefer it to be cool if I were standing outside at a ceremony. There’s just as much chance for rain in July as there is in Oct. I also really wouldn’t want to host or attend a wedding on July 4th weekend.

Defffffinitely October. If you’re planning on doing the subway transportation thing, you know for damn sure it’s going to be icky, sticky, humid, nasty if you do it in July– really messy and won’t be comfortable for you, your man and guests. That, and the summer months are filled with tourists.

October will be great I think. I would pick October in a heartbeat. Fall weather is beautiful. Good Luck! 🙂 xxx

Just to warn you – I learned the hard way that Oct is the high season for visitors to NYC (hotels are much more expensive than July) and for weddings (vendors book sooner). July is actually the lower season. Just something to factor.

@joanna329:  July!

NY summer subway rides are TERRIBLE, they are hot/humid and just plain uncomfortable in regular clothing let alone evening wear.  October in NY is not as cold as it used to be.  The warmer weather has been lasting a little longer into the month while remaining way more comfortable than July.  Also, Manhattan is swamped with tourists on regular days and even more so on holidays.

If you’re serious about using the subway as part of your wedding, definitely pick October. July in NYC is way too hot, and subway platforms are basically ovens.

I’m in NY right now and the weather outside has been in the high 60s all week -definitely warm enough for an outdoor wedding. July is way too hot, in my opinion, and there’s way more people here over the summer than in October.

I booked Oct 19 and Studio 450 was my 2nd choice but obvs I went with someplace else! Looks like my choice worked out for you!! Anyway, clearly I prefer Oct. It’s definitely high season but that’s just because the weather is perfection.

I would reconsider taking the subway to 450 even though it is a good photo op. Just have the ceremony outside, it’s so nice. 450’s location is okay but it’s really not THAT close to the subway. It’s a good 3 avenues from Penn Station and that’s a very long walk in heels.
