My SIL is getting married at the end of October and at that time I’ll be roughly 7 months pregnant. I have a cute plain black wrap dress, long sleeves that comes to the knee that I can wear to the rehearsal but I’ll need something for the wedding. Its not super formal but not really casual either. The wedding is at noon but the reception wont be until the evening if that helps….Its a Catholic wedding so nothing too revealing but I don’t mind if it shows off my bump a little. Not like i can really hide it at that point lol.

@ThreeMeers: I def plan on buying something I ust havent found anything i’ve liked online so i was hoping someone could give me some suggestions. I wouldn’t want to spend over $70.
@MARIE901: I’m in love with both of those! especially the first one. The second one is gorgeous too. Thank you! i’m going to browse their dresses now lol!

If I were you, I’d wear that black wrap dress to the wedding and dress it up as needed for the evening reception. You can do so much with jewelry, shoes, and hair and makeup. The dress sounds like it’d be perfect, and then that’s one less thing for you to worry about buying. Plus, you get a little bit of a pass for being pregnant.
Do you have something else to wear to the rehearsal dinner? If not, I think it’s better that you buy something maternity for that event. My rule of thumb while pregnant is to avoid buying things that I can’t wear over and over again. If you buy something with “wedding” in mind, you might end up with something dressier that you won’t wear very much. If you buy with “rehearsal dinner” in mind, I think you’ll end up with something more versatile.
Of course, as a fellow preggo, I’m not here to discourage you from any kind of shopping. If you want a new dress for that wedding — and a hot-fudge sundae on your way to get said dress — you go right ahead and get it.

Motherhood Maternity keeps semi formal dresses in stock all year. Starting from about $30. Also, the sales rack…Motherhood also has a brand in Kohl’s stores, but I can’t remember what it’s called now.

@Boots McGee: great idea! I think i can def pull off something more casual for the rehearsal – Pants even. This is my first baby and we plan on having more so I’ll look for something that I’ll be able to wear later too.
@MississippiQueen: Oh really?! i had no idea – I’ll check out motherhood and Kohls! thanks so much!
