I was in the same place until I asked my FI. He actually had strong opinions on colors (not a lot of pink) so I honestly asked him to pick out the colors and that I would “work with it”. He picked Purple and I asked if I can have pink “accents” and ran all the pink that I wanted to use “ran by him”. He’s loved it all so far.

I honestly would first pick your venue, then see what colors would coordinate (or look horrible with) with the space. Then ask him what he would like, then go from there. If you wanted pastels, why would you pick hot pink table holders?

  • Coordinate with current venue decor first
  • ask FI what he would like
  • choose a color palette/theme to work with
  • choose your dress
  • then look at palettes together with FI (pinterest, etc) and go from there

Everything else will fall into place after that.

PP pretty much covered it. For the record I like lavender and mint pastels 🙂

You can use your colors in the flowers, decor (centerpieces, arch ways, etc), invitations, and favors if you’re doing them.
