Hey guys I need some help with color choice. I really want to go with purple and orange however I want to do the purple dress for bridesmaid however I want to go with a black suit but I’m not sure what shirt and tie would go with it and I don’t want white shirt. I know i may be better off with another color unit but I’m footing the bill on the clothes and I only want to go with a tan suit and orange shirt with an eggplant kind of dress as a last resort. So I’m asking for help trying to figure it out or maybe other suggestions as I don’t want black and red or blues (turquoise) as my brother and cousin used these for their wedding and I don’t want to feel like I’m recycling colors.

We did black suits and grey suits with light grey shirts. And the girls wore eggplant purple dresses too. Choose whatever you like, don’t worry about what’s been done! You have to love it!

Hi @Rayswifey: I see this is your Debut Post on WBee… so a BIG Welcome to “the Hive”
Question… have you tried GOOGLING your colour choices for the Wedding
Such as – Purple and Orange Wedding –
GOOGLE IMAGES = http://www.google.ca/search?q=purple+and+orange+wedding&rlz=1W1TSCA_enCA455&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=WCCgUYffD5Kq4APb9YCADA&sqi=2&ved=0CCsQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=612
Mess around with variables…
– Purple and Orange Groom – etc.
That usually brings up some great pics, ideas, inspiration…
OR there is always Pinterest.
Hope this helps,

@Rayswifey: I think you could do BMs in purple, and then groomsmen in black with purple shirt and a tie with orange stripes, similar to these:

@NLbride: Yes, this is an excellent idea. OP, our guys wore purple shirts and very dark grey suits and looked fantastic. You can bring the orange in subtly with orange in the boutonniere or one of the very nice striped ties posted above.

@Rayswifey: I think if you are willing to compromise and go with a white shirt, the colors could be pulled together with a purple and orange tie and/or boutonniere.
Black, purple and orange are all strong colors. I think a white shirt will make the groomsmen look dressy rather than costumey.

I did google but all I come up with is the gray suit which is ok I plan on shopping around sometime in the next two weeks to get the pirce together. In the New York area you can get a black suit for about 60-70 and three for like 150 at some stores and they are really descent you won’t even know they are that cheap but when you do colors they are a bit more. It’s a destination wedding in a sense because I’m not originally from here and am going back to my country for the wedding and for fam to participate you have to rpovide with clothes as they cannot their own clothes and stuff.
