The colours my fiance and I have chosen for the wedding are purple and teal. The guys will have teal ties and purple boutonieres. The girls will have purple dresses and flowers, but I can’t think of how to work teal into their outfits. I know that I do not want teal flowers (I don’t like fake, dyed teal flowers). Any other ideas on how I could work teal in for the bridesmaids?

I love the look of these flowers. they’re a combo of both colors. they’re orchids. failing that, some nice chunky teal jewelery?

jenuine88: You do not need to incorporate your colors everywhere or in every outfit. It can look a bit busy or patchy if you go overboard.Something that can help is to use a stripe or a pattern for the men’s ties rather than a solid color.
For the BM’s you coud wrap their bouquet stems in teal or use teal jewelry or shoes.

The wrap around their bouquets can be teal, they could have some funky teal jewelry, or a teal sash.
I agree with you about fake dyed flowers – ick.

If you are having a maid of honor have her in the same brideamids dress but in teal rather than purple, or a dress with two tone option like a colored belt which you could do teal. You could also put teal ribbon around their bouquets 😀

Don’t? There’s no need to be matchy matchy by using all the colors on each person, I think it will look great with jut your girls in purple! Or maybe their shoes?

There are many shades of turquoise (the stone) jewelry that could match the teal you are using. Or just have them in purple!

I like the idea of wrapping teal ribbon around the bouquets. or going with those flowers with the teal tinge if you can find them.
Personally I wouldn’t go for chunky teal jewellery, feels too forced.
I was also caught in the trap of trying to incorporate my colors everywhere. They don’t have to be everywhere, you just pick colors to be cohesive. It’s better to have hints of your accent colors in places.

Do you have to have teal on the bridesmaids? Just because you have 2 colors in your wedding doesn’t mean you have to have them both in or on everything. Obviously if you want it you can haha, but I don’t think it’s necessary. I’m not a fan of the two contrasting colors on the dress (sash) but the ribbon wrapped around the bouquet in teal is a great idea that the PP had. I wouldn’t do much more than that though. I think ivory flowers would look amazing wrapped in a teal ribbon against a purple dress! I know you said you want purple flowers, though.
