how about a fun colored serving tray on the ottoman? blue or green maybe?
I love to cover pillows because it so easy to do and easy to change out. Also, just think about a simple throw blanket that can stay out!
I saw what about blue? It's not too girly, but you can do various shades. Plus I love the look of grey and blue together.
Use color in your throw, pillows, rug, art, wall color, etc. If you use a rug with a lot of colors, you can pick out one or two and use these as accent colors in your accessories.
What about some jewel tones, like a deep purple or dark emerald green. You could do accents with a blanket or pillows, but if you wanted more subtle colors, you could use a really pretty tray and vase on your ottomon, or something similar.
