So, I’ve just found my venue – and am now clueless about the decorations. Our colors are chocolate and yellow.
Here is the venue I am looking at: http://eventsource.ca/tour.aspx?id=46
Do you guys have any suggestions on how to do it up? The couches in the lounge come with the venue and so do all the bar stools. We’re hoping for non-floral solutions.
Also, in regards to a centerpiece – I saw this today and thought they could maybe work. I was planning on getting a mirror for a base and adding a few more candles around it. I’m just not sure how this would play in with the colour scheme. What do you guys think?

oohhh that’s sooo pretty! I would use those as centerpieces and by lots of candles and spread them thru the room… the room is pretty enough that you don’t need flowers

Those are gorgeous. Maybe you can have yellow glass votive holders to incorporate the color.

I’m thinking of maybe spray-painting the stand brown and wrapping some yellow beads around the middle. Would that be to matchy-matchy?

I think those are very pretty! Very nice for that gorgeous venue. I think that it is a good idea to paint them brown, but I am not sure that yellow beading would show up much. Do you want to add yellow table runners for more color? You already have a lot of brown, so adding yellow votive candles in glass votive holders would add some more color and lighting placed around the room too. 🙂

Beautiful venue! In my opinion, I would stay away from using the mirror pieces on the tables. Your venue seems to be very Tuscan and old world style and the mirrors don’t really fit in with that. Brown and yellow are great color choices for that venue! I personally am doing champagne colored table cloths with a slight texture to them (in bangaline fabric) with an earthy colored table runner that my mom will cut and sew. What about something like that but with brown and yellow? What size tables are you using and how tall are the ceilings? You might also want to think about that and if your candle centerpiece is possibly to small or not tall enough. Instead of flowers, have you thought of using branches with candles hanging off of them? Just a few thoughts. Hope that helps! 🙂
