Ok, so I am having my reception at a community type hall. I can’t take any of the things off the wall and I have no idea what to do to the rest of the hall. I already have centerpieces and stuff but I guess I’m wondering about wall/ceiling decorations. It’s a casual wedding as well so i’m not worried about the chairs and tables. TIA

@MrsGorsuch2013: Tell us more about your wedding. I remember that you are looking for blue bridesmaid dresses.
What have you decided on for centerpieces? What is your color scheme? Do you have a theme? What ideas are you looking for?
You may not be able to take anything down from the walls, but you can cover things up.
You can use large 3M Command Hooks on the walls (they remove easily with no damage to the wall) and hang something from those hooks. You could get large prints (2×3 feet) made of some of your favorite pics of you and your FI or of famiy members and/or their wedding pictures. Staples and Kinkos both do engineers prints (large copies on very thin paper) for about $7. You can use spray adhesive to mount them to sheets of foamcore.
The suspended ceiling is the easiest to decorate. You can get special hooks, also from Staples or other big box stores like Home Depot or Lowe’s, to hang lights or garlands from the bars. If they are not holding a lot of weight, you can also use large paper clips opened up.
float helium filled balloons against the ceiling
swag fabric between the bars
hang bunting or garland

Those are really good ideas!! I love the idea of the balloons! The centerpieces we are doing will be a round mirror with a candle in the middle and clear ice around it. Our colors are green and blue. The only theme i really have is simple yet elegant and beautiful.
