Wow! Congrats first of all on the weight loss. As for altering the dress, it really depends on the style. My advice to to bring it to a seamstress and see what she can do. It may be an easy enough job, or you may have to get an entire new dress.

All the places I have been to have told me that they can only take a dress in 2 sizes and out 1 size. I am 215lbs looknig to get down to 130lbs myself so I asked.

A  very good seamstress could do something with it, but they would basically have to remake it and it will be $$$. Since you have so much time, why not sell it and find something that fits your new body?  Show off your accomplishment!

Hey well done you. You should be so proud! Cake gal is right, try a few dressmakers and see what they say. But now you can really enjoy trying dresses, so why not see what’s out there? Might be just as affordable as getting that dress reconstructed.

Now, fess up!! How did you lose the weight, and how long did it take? Lookin to go from 212 to 147, myself…. I keep tellin myself I’ve plenty of time, but it’ll fly, all the same….

Congrats on your weight loss first of all!  Secondly, I think it depends on the style of the dress and where you lost your weight.  But to be quite honest, they will probably have to rebuild the dress from the fabric you have.  Hopefully it works out though!!  Good luck!
