if you want "unique and original" then i voted for the off the shoulder... reason being most brides these days seem to have strapless dresses and when i look at your pic i think "oh wow how nice, she has off the shoulder/sleeves"
loving the train btw... its gorgeous
I really like the off the shoulder look...Mrs. Avocado looked so classy and elegant in her's!
I was just thinking the dress reminded me of Mrs. Avocado's! I agree that off the shoulder is definitely classy and more original right now when soooo many dresses are strapless!
I think strapless looks more clean cut, and I love the sweetheart neckline. The off the should looks more Disney Princess-y.
I think the off the shoulder is more classic, elegant and dramatic. Plus it really accentuates your perfect proportions. I think you look a little narrow at the shoulders with the strapless. Ultimately, either would look good... but you got the "ONE" feeling with the portrait sleeves and I think there's a reason for that. Go with your gut :)
I also love the off the shoulder look...my only hesitation would be the cathedral veil may be a bit too much with the off-the-shoulder dress (but that is just me). I definitely prefer simplicity. I think the off-the-shoulder look is so classic but unique, but the style may be lost with a cathedral veil.
How about a one shoulder design? I really like the look of the strapless with the cathedral veil. however, it is not unique or different with strapless in and of itself.
I personally happen to like the strapless look better but that's just me...I think if you got the 'ONE' feeling from the off-the-shoulder look, then there's your answer...your dress is beautiful, btw!
The off the shoulder is very very classy and elegant.
The strapless is a bit more modern, but I think I like that more!
I really like you with the off-the-shoulder straps. I think they look really flattering on you. I'd also consider either wearing your hair down or maybe putting on a necklace.
First, great job with the photoshop! I also like the off-the-shoulder. Are you wearing something in your hair on the day? The reflection in the very left picture makes it look like you have a big white flower on your hair (OK, a bit lower), but made me think it'd look real pretty if you had a white flower or something...just a thought.
Ultimately though, go with your gut. I'm sure the right look will call on you!

I have recently been considering changing my dress to the original style that I was looking for (strapless, sweetheart neckline, corset back) when I started dress shopping. I would just have to remove the straps and add a corset back to my dress.
However, I'm still waiting for my dress to come in and when I tried it on, I definitely had that feeling that you get when you know that it is the ONE. Now that I'm waiting, I have been reconsidering my decision to go with an off-the-shoulder look.
I had the picture of my dress edited in photoshop so that I could compare the look of the off-the-shoulder dress with how it may look as a strapless. My wedding theme is classic/romantic (timeless) so please let me know what you think.....strapless or off-the-shoulder? I want my dress to be unique and original, but also have the wow fator. I will be wearing a cathedral veil and pearl accessories :)
