Weddingbee boards

My Mom is driving me crazy over this engagement/ wedding announcement. I always thought whoever is hosting (paying) for the wedding...announces it...like we are paying for the entire wedding so it would be worded  "(me) and Chris Woods proudly announce their engagement...blah blah....BUT my Mom insists that it should be "Mr. & Mrs (my parents names) proudly announce the engagement of their daughter Amanda to Chris Woods.  I dont know!!

Also, more importantly....I DO NOT know how to word Chris's family.  His parents got divorced when he was young...His father (Clay) is re-married to (Moira). They still live b us... But his Mother who moved to Kentucky has a boyfriend but isn't married yet but they are "getting hitched" type deal in the next few months....How would I list his parents and step mom without hurting feelings?

I need a few ideas on writing the paragraph that goes into the newspaper!!! Thanks!

There's probably a simple format your newspaper recommends.  You could say:

Mr. and Mrs. Fathers Name proudly announce the engagement of their daugther, Bride to Chris Woods, son of Mr. Clay Woods and Mrs. Mother Woods.

You don't need to include his father's wife or mother's boyfriend.
