How about a spa day for the two of you? It still keeps with the "experience" thing you usually do, but it something that you can enjoy while pregnant, and she'll definitely need after the IVF.
Will your friend be taking any time off during her IVF? My best girlfriend had to have some extra time off due to complications and she got pretty bored at home so maybe an IVF "survival kit" would work?
You could throw in some DVD's or books, some slippers, some chocolates etc

Hi ladies. My very best friend is beginning the IVF process in January. She has spent the past month going through all the crazy testing. Typically our christmas gifts for each other are experiences such as tickets for a girly night to the ballet, show, etc. But with myself 9 weeks pregnant and her beginning her busy life with IVF, it will be hard to make plans too far in advance. What would be a thoughtful Christmas gift? I am completly drawing a blank this year.
