Does she have a garden? Maybe you could send something that she could plant (ie: if she likes roses, a rose bush for the garden) that way it is a reminder of you and a celebration of her "putting down roots" in her new home.
some things I love or would love to have
- a cashmere throw for my couch (might be more than what you want to spend but you can probably find one on sale)
- pottery (anything really, check etsy for great stuff) I like to have somthing unique on my kitchen table that is also functional (holds fruit, flowers etc)
- letterpress calling cards (Twin Ravens Press makes adorable ones for a very reasonable price)
- does she like tea? you can send her a tea press (crate and barrel has a nice one) with some beautiful mugs & tea
I would also check out the mighty goods website. she has tons of unique items listed so I'm sure you'll find something that appeals to your friend. also check their sister site mighty haus.
have fun shopping!

My best friend in the whole universe just bought a house. She's 28, single and lives far away, and I want to send her a really nice gift to celebrate her new house. Any ideas? She told me not to get her anything because she already has lots of stuff, but I want to get her something meaningful anyway because she has always been there to celebrate my milestones. I'd like to spend about $100. I don't want to do a framed photo because we don't have any really good photos of us, and she isn't a big drinker, so wine is out. Any ideas?
