Are you wanting formal/fun/? Our recessional is going to be "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)" and I'm thinking of having the bridesmaids walk down to "Love Story" by Taylor Swift.
I'm doing the instrumental version of Love Story from Jon Schmidt once it's downloadable! It leads into Viva La Vida which is all really lovely
we are having "its a wonderful world" played - however its on the harp so sounds more 'traditional'
I really wanted the instrumental from Forrest Gump. It's so pretty and unique! But my fiance thinks it sounds too much like Terms of Endearment and nixed that :(
We are doing an instrumental version of U2's "Beautiful Day" by Vitamin String Quartet for the bridesmaid processional and and instrumental version of The Beatles "Here Comes the Sun" for the recessional. I still have no idea what I want to walk out to.
How about some Beatles? Lots to choose from. A couple that come to mind: 'And I Love Her' and 'All You Need is Love'
All you need is love is my recessional! All fingerstyle guitar though. So lovely and fresh
I'm using "Stolen" by Dashboard Confessional for the recessional. Not sure why this song struck such a good chord with me but I just love it!
We are using "In My Life" by the beatles for the processional, I'm walking down to "Love Me Tender". Both played by two of my family members who will be playing guitar, harmonica, possibly fiddle. I also have many string quartet albums of familiar artists, like pink floyd, radiohead, coldplay, they have tons of them. That's what I'm playing while people are being seated. It is kind of fun, pretty music but most younger folks will recognize the tunes. itunes sells a ton of vitamin string quartet albums, that might be a good bunch to look through.
My bridesmaids walked down to "Lets stay together" by Al Green and we used 311 "Love Song" for our recessional.
My sister's recessional will be "Ain't no woman like the one I've got" by the Four Tops. We don't believe in traditional music!
There are lots of Beatles songs that would work though! Like "I want to hold your hand" but there's tons more.
Our recessional was "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Michael Buble.....it's so upbeat, fun and very fitting!! =)
I was going to use Bittersweet Symphony for processional, but I'm just not totally feeling it for whatever reason. What I really want to walk to is "So Here We Are" by Bloc Party, but I'm not sure it has the staying power and impact needed for a walk.
I went to a wedding oce and the bridesmaids walked in to a strings version of girls "Girls Just want to Have Fun"
I'm helping my boss with her wedding songs. If you don't know it, listen to 1,2,3,4 by Plain White T's. It's new to me, but she already knew it. When she played it for me in the office I knew she had to use it in her wedding. I think that's what she may walk in to, but it could be good for the bridesmaid's entrance too. Now I'm on the lookout for a recessional song that would match it but be a little more upbeat.
WOW!!! I love all these thank you for all your wedding bee help! AHHH now I have so many songs and choices!! =)
Our bridesmaids also walked down to U2's Beautiful Day by the Vitamin String Quartet... They have some AWESOME songs. You can sample them on iTunes and purchase the songs you want. I walked down to Eric Clapton's Beautiful Tonight by Vitamin String Quartet... we also used Everlong by Foo Fighters and 100 Years-- all done by Vitamin String.. Good luck!
Another really neat idea for the party is anything modern on the steel drums - Can't Help Falling in Love with You and Groovy Kind of Love are two of my faves. You can see samples on You Tube. It's so beachy!

We aren't sure what we are proceeding too but front runners right now are an upbeat version of "Better Together" or Louis Armstrong's "Zip a dee doo dah" :)
The gooms parents walked up to the Norwegian Wood by the Beatles
The bridesmaids walked up to Free Falling by Tom Petty
Both were instumental versions on acoustic guitar
Everyone walked back down the aisle to Here Comes the Sun
Our recessional was to the Indiana Jones theme song, but only because if my husband was forced to throw one of the Indiana Jones DVD's over a cliff, I believe that he might throw himself instead. However, one of the coolest weddings I've ever been to used the theme song to "The Muppet Show" played by a string quartet. In a word, AWESOME. It was very, very hip, despite how silly it sounds!
We are doing a Beatles ceremony. My friend and uncle are playing acoustic guitar and playing the melody.
Our processional is either "In My Life" or "Here There Everywhere" by the Beatles and our recessional is "Here Comes the Sun".
We are very......random:
Mother's seated: "Hallelujah"by Jeff Buckley
Bridesmaids: "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve
Bride: "You and Me" by Lifehouse
Recessional: "Happiness is a warm gun" (starting at the chorus) by The Beatles

Does "Bittersweet Symphony" make anyone else think of Cruel Intentions? I know a lot of people use it in their wedding, and it's a pretty song but every time I hear it I think of the ending in that movie.
We're still toying with songs for the ceremony, but right now leaning toward:
Parents/grandparents: Jack Johnson, Better Together
Bridal Party: Peter Frampton, Baby I Love Your Way
Me: Bridal march? or something else? I don't know!
Recessional: Lucky in Love (GLEE version) or Just the Way You Are (Bruno Mars? or GLEE?)
My husband and I used some songs that felt unique:
Bridesmaid's entrance: Forrest Gump theme song - Alan Silvestri (beautiful!)
Bride's entrance: Jim Brickman - If you believe (I heard it and just knew)
Recessional: Boston - More than a feeling (had DJ start the song at 00:34 for the guitar riff to emphasis the mood for the reception = FUN)
I think the Bride's entrance song was the most difficult to choose. We also included "Your Love" by the Outfield for our entrance and Cascada's "Everytime we touch - Candlelight mix" for our first song. We used a remix of "stand by me" for the parent dance. If you want a copy I can e-mail it to you. tbirdtakesflight@yahoo.com
My Bridesmaids are walking in to "Dream" by Priscilla Ahn....If you haven't heard it, it's the song in Bride Wars movie where they see eachother at the end before each go into their weddings. It's such a CUTE and meaningful song and it's honestly perfect!!!
For my song that I'm walking into it (our wedding is outside) is Jason Castro's version of "Somewhere over the Rainbow"
Our Recessional song is also Jason Castro "That's what I'm here for" because they both flow together and I love the sound of his voice. It's perfect!!!!
We're doing a rose ceremony instead of Sand and unity candle. It's where we each have a rose and we walk down and I give his mother a rose to join my family to his and my Fiance gives my mom a rose to join his family to mine. We wanted to do something different and this just seemed like the perfect thing to do. During the Rose Ceremony we are using "When I say I do" by Matthew West....It's a BEAUTIFUL song.
Hope this helps!!!
Thank you for introducing me to the Vitamin String Quartet! Its AWESOME!
