Spa day? Some fun group activity like bowling, mini golf, etc.?
What about a wine tasting? Even if you're not near a winery, a lot of restaurants do them too!
Also, I know you're in Chicago, but I just learned that in NYC, Bergdorf's will open early just for your group, if you book a spa event with your girls at the spa! I bet there are places in Chi town that do the same.
For my sisters stagette we had to do something that all the bridemaids could participate in, two of them are below the drinking age here (19)
We went bowling, it was tonnes of fun, we dressed up the bride and had a round of bumper bowling, bowling granny style and bowling from the floor. Afterwards we went to a local restaurant for dinner and drinks. It was low key but lots of fun.
Darn! Other posters stole my ideas! :) I was going to say spa or wine tasting. And I am loving the cosmic bowl idea too!
what do you and your girls like to do? you can go to a spa. do a purse party (like at lill street studio). have a slumber party and rent lots of silly girl movies (clueless, mean girls, sixteen candles, etc.), do each other's hair and makeup, have mani/pedis. is there a sport you all like? you can go golfing. are you up for adventure? you can go skydiving. how about a weekend at the beach? you can go to a drag show. it depends on what you like to do.
I live in Chicago, too, and I HIGHLY recommend southern Michigan for wine tasting. My FI and I do it every summer or fall, and it's always a lot of fun. TONS of wineries and places to eat, and it's out in the country, so the scenery is beautiful.
I also always recommend that the final stop be Tabor Hill Winery and Restaurant for dinner. They have an amazing dining room that overlooks the vineyard, and a lovely outdoor patio to have a glass of wine and relax by the vineyard. The food is uh-mazing there, and relatively inexpensive for what you get.
Spa days are always fun if you have underage people in your group. Mojo Spa on Milkwaukee in Wicker Park is SO much fun! The owner of the store is also a chef, so on Sundays, they do a brunch where she served you food while you get your pedi! And all the products are homemade by her, and awesome. High recommended!
I think all of these sound like a lot of fun! I really like the wine tasting idea. :)
fondu is always fun and you could do an evening in with fondu and girly movies and cocktails!
We are going to spend the nite in a hotel and do a little shopping, eating, drinking and talking about the good ole days!
My bmaids and I just went to a White Sox game (easily interchangable with a Cubs game!) and dinner which was a fun evening out :-) What about a day/weekend in Lake Geneva for relaxing or a trip to the aquarium?
I'm hosting tea at the Four Seasons for the bridal party brunch ( I know tea isn't brunch...but whateves). Maybe something like that?
HAve you heard of passion parties? lol. I think they are fun! = ) You should be able to look it up online.
