@EmilyFall:  aw man. I’ve been watching these types of YouTube videos for years!! I don’t plan on getting pregnant anytime soon.. but damn, telling the husband and family just seems like so much fun.

There’s a million ways – but I kind of like the idea of something like this:

Make a nice dinner and serve three plates, two on your side, one on his. When hes like “wtf?” just say – “oh, I have to eat for two now”

I told my husband I had made dinner and that his was in the oven.  When he opened it, there was just a hamburger bun.  He kept saying, “Babe, there’s just a bun!  There is just a bun in the oven!  Where is dinner? I just see a bun in the oven!”  Then he GOT it… and started yelling, “There’s a bun in the oven??? There’s a bun in the oven???”  It was great.  My only regret is not filming it 🙂

Haha from the title I was so prepared to come to this thread and say something like “um… a pregnancy test?  Failing that, ask the moon goddess.”  In a funny way, not a mean way.  I’m sure you’re way too excited to bother with semantics.

Congratulations!

Ask if he’s got Valentine’s day sorted out, and tell him to call the place and make sure they have some interesting, non-alcoholic drinks.  When he looks at you all confused thinking “the hell is wrong with wine?” Say “you KNOW I can’t drink in my condition!”  Hit “in my conditon” in the best 60’s house wife voice you’ve got.  It’ll be the berries.

I had found a postcard that was an old seppia photo from a hunting expedition or poaching bust – it showed a tiger and an alligator laying stretched out alongside each other in the grass, a paw from the tiger thrown over the gator’s back.  The caption said – “No one knew what their offspring might look like, but everyone agreed it would be mean as hell”.

@EmilyFall:  Does your DH have a favorite sports team? They all do baby jerseys these days… You could get one with your last name on it and tell him you got a really good deal on a personalized jersey… when he sees how small it is you can just be like “Oh, I guess the baby can wear it then in [insert month here]”

I just blurted to DH since we were going to a fertility clinic that same morning (13 cycles!!) i didnt really have a choice… But we kept it a secret from our family for 12 weeks… we were able to spill the beans to 50 members of DH’s family at thanksgiving dinner at his parents house… we are catholic so we always say grace before we eat – so DH volunteered being the eldest son… He did the standard “Bless us oh lord for these thy gifts…” but then before the Amen we add personal blessings… so he said “Bless our family and friends who are not here with us tonight…. and bless our unborn child who is due in June… Amen”… It took a long time for some to figure it out but everyone was bawling… it was priceless… top 10 best days ever for me….

you could do a message in a bottle- you can either write a note or put your positive pregnanct test (or both) inside a baby bottle and give it to him.

I always liked the episode on full house where Becky made Jesse dinner – baby carrots baby back ribs etc…. To tell my parents I would want to give them a card saying happy birthday grandma or grandpa!!!
