Usually it is “Jane and John Smith request the honor of your presence at the marriage uniting Bride and Groom son of Bob and Sally Jones”

date

time

plase

I don’t think you are missing anything in your way, it’s just that usually the honor of your presence thing is on top I think.

Who is hosting (paying for) the wedding?

If everyone is chipping in I’ve seen it said

“together with their parents” request the honor of your presence.

If it is brides parents, then they are the ones requesting the presence.

I think it is fine how it is though.

I don’t think it looks weird but you could write:

“The Honor of your presence is requested by

Bride

daughter of Jane and John Smith

and

Groom

son of Bob and Sally Jones

as they exchange wedding vows

date

time

place

details about reception, etc.

I have lots of invites in a basket at home….if I remember to, I will try to post some wording later.  I analyzed our invites for hours and hours…but I’ve received a lot of compliments on them.

I like what Colorado Bride said. Or you could start with

“It is with great pleasure that

Bride

and

Groom

request the….”

I sent a suggestion to you for wording that I think you would like but I think it was deleted because I posted it in the wrong place…and I added my website information…so sorry.  Don’t want to do the wrong thing on here.  It was my understanding that the posting was deleted.  If you didn’t receive it privately and would like it, please let me know.  Writing is my forte and I love doing wording for invitations.   I’m happy to resend it in the right format this time if you didn’t receive it.  : >

For mine, I wrote

Together with their parents Allison & Austin invite you to share in a celebration of love as they exchange vows

However, my parents and his contributed a little, so we included them with the parents wording, but since you are paying for it and don’t want your name first this website has some nice suggestions for different ways to start out an invite if you don’t want to start it with your names

in our invites, I think we’re going to say “together with our families” because his parents are divorced and his father has a long-term girlfriend but we want to include everyone without getting into the nitty-gritty.
