I am utterly clueless about putting together a bridal look. It took me forever to find a dress that I could stand – now I have to figure out jewelry and shoes?! I fear this is beyond my capabilities.
Would anyone be interested in helping me?
Here’s my dress:
I’d prefer to wear flats.
I’m having an outdoor garden wedding from 4pm to 10pm.
I’m thinking that my hair would be in a loose chignon like the model and I don’t plan on wearing a veil – maybe a large flower like the model. I’m also thinking about getting some dangling earrings and a bracelet. I”m thinking no necklace. I normally don’t wear any jewelry, hence my utter confusion.
I’ll take any recommedations you can give – actual items, brands, etc.

Hmm, do you happen to have any closeup photos of the details on the torso/waistband?

Going by the style of the dress, you might want to look into Seychelles for shoes.
Alternatively, offbeatbride has occasional shoe posts where they showcase flats – just find the shoes tag and…well…look for flats.
Regarding hair accessories, you could talk to your florist. I’m getting floral hair pins made for about $25.

@allyouneedislove: No, I don’t – that would be helpful… It’s like a pewtery colored silver… not as bright and shiny as the picture.
The dress is pretty white – the pearls are white.
Should I add a pearl bracelet? Or would that be too much pearl?

@JazzJune: Firstly, your dress is stunning. For being “utterly clueless” about bridal dresses, you sure do have fabulous taste.
Secondly, I think you should check out Etsy for jewelry (huge variety of jewelry). I would not do pearls for your earrings/bracelet (too much pearl). I would suggest something with a bit of sparkle (or even colour, if you want):
Crystal Drop Earrings Mint Green Earrings
Leaf Cuff Bracelet Rhinestone Bracelet
If you have your heart set on pearls, I would suggest mixing pearls/sparkle (but make sure your pearls are not too ivory-coloured):
Pearl/Crystal Teardrop Erin Crystal/Pearl Earrings
Ivory Pearl/Crystal Bracelet Crystal/Rhinestone/Pearl Cuff
As for shoes, you should first start your search at Shopstyle.com (shopping database that allows you to narrow your search by colour, style, size, price, etc.). Here are a couple flats I found:
J Crew Bijoux
Jeffrey Campbell Martini
Enzo Angiolini Brandil
Janine White Laser Cut
Tradesy Ivory Pearl Flats/Clutch

@MlleFabuleux: I. Love. You. 🙂 Im totally going to follow your recommendations 🙂 what about Headpiece? Large flower type pin thingee?

@JazzJune: Hahaha 😀 It’s really easy to style such a gorgeous gown, seriously.
As for headpieces, I actually like the Twigs & Honey one the model is wearing in the stock photo (I esp. love that it’s feathers made to look like a flower). The issue, though, is that it’s T&H, and not everyone is going to pay $120 for a flower comb. So…Etsy once again is a great place to find similar, or even not-so-similar flowers:
Peony Flower Clip ($30) Feather Flower Fascinator ($45)
Or you can deviate from the flower pin, and go with a sparkly or pearlescent hair ornament (still in a floral/leaf design, though):
Antique Brass Comb ($95) Rhinestone Fascinator ($195)
My honest vote lies with the large flower, particularly because you’re having a lovely garden wedding. Have you considered using a fresh flower instead? Maybe you could arrange something with your florist or DIY it. See how excited the first bride is to have her fresh peony? 😛

@MlleFabuleux: Thank you, thank you! I’ve laid awake at night stressing about this. – I’m totally serious! What you suggested was what I was thinking of doing, so I feel a lot better 🙂
