So, my fiancee and I just visited 6 venues in New Jersey this weekend (Park Savoy, Brooklake Country Club, Crystal Plaza, Crystal Springs Resort, and Perona Farms). We are eh about them all for one simple reason: all but the Crystal Plaza have a cramped ceremony space. The situation:
He’s Catholic, I’m Jewish. We need to wed at the venue. If the weather is perfect and we can be outdoors, awesome. Sky’s galore. If it rains, most venues turn one of their rooms (cocktail or reception room) into the ceremony room. We hate that. Our guests would need to be herded around like well-dressed cattle.
Anyone have recs for a beautiful venue with an equally beautiful indoor ceremony room? The Crystal Springs Resort was perfect, but nauseatingly expensive.

@drosen81:Have you looked at Shadowbrook or the Manor? A friend of mine was married at the Manor last June, they have this beautiful garden with a pavillion in the back. They’re in the same situation (she’s Catholic, he’s Jewish) and the venue let them build a chuppa(sp?) in the garden. Another girlfriend is having her wedding at Shadowbrook in October. She was excited because that venue has a kosher menu. Good hunting!

I second the manor- nice outdoor ceremony space- we went to a wedding there last year.

Have you looked at the other Cyrtsal Springs venues? Like Ballyowen Golf Club and Blackbear Golf Club? They are beautiful and have ceremony locations AND are so much cheaper than Grand Cascades/Minerals.

We actually just finished a whirlwind tour of 10 venues!! A bunch had great in-house kosher…Crystal Plaza, Crystal Springs, Brooklake.
But we went with the Rockleigh. SO beautiful and the wedding is unbelieveable! YAY.
