@Beachy0404:  What does your venue look like?  I think tossing in an additional complementary color would be a good idea but it depends on what the venue looks like.

Blue? To bring in the carpet?

Going to second (or third) blue.

I’m going to go against the grain here and say not blue. I was watching some wedding show (possibly the one with David tutero) a while back and they definitely discussed how blue and green lighting don’t flatter people or make them feel comfortable, and that guests are more willing to participate in activities when there is warm toned lighting. I really like the sound of the amber lighting. If I can find any information about the whole lighting thing I’ll let you know!

What about asking your point person at your venue for help/advice?  Chances are the staff who work events all the time could give you a better idea of how the space will look and feel with different colors.

@Beachy0404:  I like the Amber. I’m actually debating between blue and green or just an amber color. My DJ actually had yellow and it looked really awesome in the pictures. Since that is one of your colors you should check and see if they have it.

Blue lighting always looks strange and unflattering to me. I agree with the Bees who voted for amber. It’s flattering and casts a cozy, classy glow.

I vote amber or yellow.  Uplighting is good in almost any color because it is concentrated in spots.  Color wash is when people look sick and you can’t get away from the color.

I find that most colored lighting makes people’s skin tones look super weird. So I would just go with a soft, uncolored light. But if you really want a color I’d go with an amber, because it doesn’t look so bad on people. Any of the cool colors or yellow tend to make you look sickly.
