Our wedding colors are a bright olive, a mustardy/goldy bright yellow, and white.
The only thing not included on our tablescape here are the tree slices we will place the bottles on and around – we have not cut the rings yet. So keep that in mind (and that’s also why we went with the wood-grain chargers. Our first choice chargers are round, so the final chargers may not be these square ones, but the color will be very similar.)
Anyway, here’s the setup with everything from our rental company:
But I’m torn about the napkins. That yellow is the only color yellow they have, and it’s very buttery and soft, not at all the vibrant, dusky yellow that I want. They don’t have a green that’s anything CLOSE to what we’re using, so the only other option looks like white, and that just seems like it would be too boring.
Do you guys think these napkins look ok with the rest of the setup? Are they too light? Should I make/find darker napkins? Go with white? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Why do I care about napkins so much?

@Minnow: I think they look great. But, if you don’t like them then it’s probably gonna bug you until you find the right color your looking for. Can you rent them from someone else??

I think it looks great with those flowers!

I like the look. Not a fan of the fold used.

They look good. None of your guests will pull out colour pallettes to check exact shades of yellow. Everything ties together well and that is good enough.
Take a moment to read this thread: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/things-i-dont-care-about#axzz2ZpHDgaNT Breathe deeply and remember that they are just napkins.

Isn’t it funny how event planning makes you question the craziest things?! I don’t think it’s a big deal but I can completely see what you’re saying. The color is kind of a dated yellow which is infortunate because the rest of the setting is so unique! I would probably also look for a different shade to support the “look” you’re going for. With that said, don’t drive yourself crazy!!!! I’m going bananas because I’m using gold & cream striped linens but my venue charges an arm & a leg for matching cream napkins. The things we do for our visions!!!!

I think the napkin looks good but if it’s going to clash with your other decor, you should go with white and maybe add a mustardy/goldy bright yellow ribbon.

They look good enough. They match the flowers. No one will care about the color of your napkins but you.

I love them, the whole tablescape looks great! I honestly wouldn’t change a thing!

@Minnow: I like the napkins, but I agree with the PP about the fold. I don’t like the fold either.

Thank you, these are both really good ideas that I will look into!
@BrandNewBride: Thanks! These are just some flowers I picked up at Trader Joe’s that just happened to be similar enough in color to what we are doing.
Ah, I should have specified – I just plopped the napkin down on the plate to take the picture – so this isn’t an actual fold that I would use 🙂
@LLemonDifficult: Hah! That’s really funny. 🙂 I try to live in that manner and plan my wedding with those things in mind, but there are a few things I feel passionately about, and my tablescapes are one of them. My homemade-by-my-boss carrot cakes? Don’t care about that. Don’t care that I have no wedding party, don’t care that my wedding is on a Friday, don’t care that I won’t have a bouquet, and so on. I think prioritizing the things that are important to you and allowing yourself to be a little spastic about those is better than obsessing about every detail! The napkins just happen to be a spastic point for me 😀
@scholetica: It’s crazy! And then when you go to a wedding while you’re planning one, you feel like a creeper checking out every detail that you probably would not have noticed before! (Or maybe that’s just me.)
@whoa_its_ash: You’re probably right. But *I’d* notice :-O
@Mrs. Wallaby: Thank you! I know it will probably look great when it’s all put together no matter what napkin color I go with in the end!
