My fiance and I have SUCH different taste in music. I’m trying to figure out a wedding song that he and I will both like, but I’m having major difficulty! He hates anything country or anything that’s too Pop-like.
I want something modern, but it can’t be too sappy. For example, he likes Jack Johnson, but our friends just danced to Better Together. So I don’t want to steal their song.
Any ideas?? Thanks!

We used You & Me by Dave Matthews Band. Would something like that work?
Other songs we considered: Lulaby by Dixie Chicks (doesn’t sound country at all, I don’t think), Heavenly Day by Patty Griffin, and Passenger Seat by StephenSpeaks

Van Morrison has some great stuff. My sister used Tupelo Honey for her her first dance, and we used “These are the Days”
Eva Cassady does a great version of Songbird that we considered.
Oops just saw that you want modern. Probably can’t help you out there….

Thank you! Never heard Heavenly Day before but sounds like something he may like. I will give it a try!

I agree with @nmsoonerbride: Van morrison is the man! He has a lot of great songs to pick from. Ours is “I’ll be your lover, too” by Van Morrison. Couldn’t be happier and have never had doubts about it!

No, I guess it doesn’t have to be modern. He’s just so picky, it’s killing me. Thank you!

How about “lucky” by Jason mraz and cobie calliat? That is sweet and jack Johnson-y
