My fiancée and I are looking to rent a home for our wedding reception, like an estate/any large home with a backyard. Our vision is to have a backyard wedding that is both casual and elegant. We are also open to inns or bed and breakfasts where people can stay the night after the wedding. Our dream is to have a hot summer nights wedding so we are mainly looking at inland properties, not properties on the coast. We are really having trouble finding a place within our budget as we are only spending $15,000 total. Does anyone have any suggestions for us? Please help!

Have you looked at vacation rental websites and tried contacting property owners that way? Keep in mind that most septic systems in houses can’t handle the waste load of a typical wedding guest list. You’ll probably have to rent port-a-potties, which will be an added expense (or risk having the septic tank overflow in the yard).
We got married in La Jolla, and my family lives right on the coast, so i’m sorry i’m not more of a help with inland stuff.

Hi! Thanks for your reply! Yes, we have tried the typical vacation websites-vrbo/craiglists/homeaway. Not a whole lot of luck. We are also open to other venues that are outside and not so traditional/cheesey. Thanks again!

Montana Cielo in Jamul is a great venue. I had my wedding there in Nov., and they are budget friendly as well.

- Wedding: September 2012 - Bailey's Palomar Resort
I went through the same process! I didn’t have a lot of luck finding inland properties which is why I ended up on Mount Palomar!
I do remember looking into the Temecula Farmhouse. The website I had doesn’t appear to be working 🙁 but I’m sure you could find it! I remember it being very pretty, and I *THINK* it was one that you rented out. But I don’t remember the cost.
I would look into Fallbrook/Temecule area though as they have larger properties where it would be easier to find a rental with lots of space and land for a wedding!
