My MOH is a big purse fan, so I thought I'd try to include a shi shi purse as part of her gift. I saw a Dolce and Gabanna clutch on sale at Overstock.com for $120. Bear in mind that these little beauties usually run from around $500-900, so I couldn't believe my luck!

The purse came today, and while there is a Dolce and Gabanna tag on it (the sales tag, meant to be removed,) the purse itself doesn't bear the label anywhere. Not inside, not on the zipper, nowhere.

Now, I usually buy my purses at Target, so I don't know about such things, but this seems wrong to me. Usually I'd say it's a fake for sure, but Overstock is a reputable site. It's also possible this was a defective product (there's a little leather liner inside that looks like it should have the brand name but doesn't,) hence the cheap price. Or maybe this is just how D&G does their bags?

I don't want to give her a bag that looks like a phony! Any bees who know purses, please let me know what you think!

I'm somewhat of a purse afficianado and that definitely sounds fishy to me. Having said that though, I'm not overly familiar with D&G purses so I would suggest checking in  with the experts over at The Purse Forum (forum.purseblog.com), they should be able to give you a really good idea of the authenticity.

I am not 100% sure but I thought overstock bought items that design might have missed something in the process and could not sell. Doesnt mean it isnt real but just was made with probably a tiny mistake? I might be wrong but that would make sense for the cheap prices. Its like an online Marshall or Ross

I think when designer stuff gets discounted their designer labels get destroyed or altered. I've seen clothes at Marshalls with their tags scribbled on and my own Vera Wang dress (that I got from a sample seller) had its tag sharpied.
