I think that dress is gorgeous and you look great in it! You are seeing the very slightest of flaws as a big deal, no one else will even see what you are seeing

I really like the straps! I think they add character to the dress and frame your face beautifully

@thumpurr:  the dress looks beautiful on you… Trust your choice. You’ll see that on your wedding day you will confirm why that was the dress you chose.

@thumpurr:  I really love the straps as well, it makes the dress more unique!  It really looks lovely on you.  As far as spanx go, I would just go with the the basic shorts style, the one the smooths out the middle, hips, backside, and thighs.  I think that is the one I am going to get as well.  But honestly you dont even look like you need it in that dress!

@thumpurr:  The straps look a bit sloe together but this could be the angle of the photo. Can they be moved further out and slightly off the shoulder ? (I am a big strapless fan but realize not everone likes this.

@nycsa:  I meant the straps looked a bit too close together but this could be the camera angle

What a gorgeous gown, I think you’re definitely selling yourself short. A few observations:

– If you’re self-conscious about your arms, what about a wrap/bolero/tulle shawl for the reception? At the ceremony, a veil will cover your arms anyway (assuming you intend to wear one).

– The v-neck of the dress is very flattering, and draws the gaze downwards

– Spanx will sort out any underwear issues. Also perhaps try some other brands – Nancy Ganz is a good one, especially if you want more of one-piece (corset with inbuilt bra – you can even get a one-piece that comprises a bra, corset and shorts to smooth out the entire thing). If possible, I would try them on.

The straps are perfect, you look beautiful in your dress! You’re being way too hard on yourself.

The only way to make your dress look even better would be to wear it with a big smile on your face, it’s so pretty! 🙂

@thumpurr:  The straps look lovely.  And your arms look fine.

I think the biggest problem is the picture you’re using for reference.  You look so stern and not happy at all.  🙁  Try that dress on again and get a new picture.  Delete that one from your phone.  Stand up straight with a big smile!  You’re getting married and have a beautiful dress for a beautiful bride!

Do you have an opportunity to go back and try on the dress again?  If you can, I’d go with your hair and makeup done up closer to how you are thinking you’ll do it for the day of, and also take some of your accessories.  I think having a more realistic picture of yourself will give you either more confidence or make you more sure about the changes you want to make.  And for what its worth, I personally think you look fantastic in that dress.

@thumpurr:  I don’t think you need spanx at all. You don’t have any bulges and it gets so hot. I do think you will like your photos better with your hair and make up done.
