theeebride007:  I’m no expert,  but it looks to me like the prongs are big because there are diamonds on them, and I think I’ve seen something similar before, and it does look like a 3-stone-ring with a gap between the stones. It looks to me like the remaining part of the band is just a double row of small diamonds; I’ve seen engagement rings with that before. Definitely an interesting ring. If you reverse-google-image-search the picture you might be able to find out more.

I think width is affected a lot by finger length, but personally, I’m a ring size 5 and my fingers are on the short side, and I like a dainty look My ring is about 3mm and I think it’s perfect, I happen to llike for the band to be thinner than the diameter of the center stone, and I have a .73ct round. Also 1ct might look especially big on your fingers, so you might love channel-set-side stones, but you also might think it’s a bit much. And if you ever want a totally non-blingy day that’s easier with a blingy engagement ring and plain wedding band, but you can always get two wedding bands or one and a stand-in ring.

theeebride007:  the best thing is to go to a store and try on styles similar to what you have described and get an idea of what you like. You’ll be surprised how many of us all said we liked X style of ring, and once we went and tried some on realised we really love Y ring instead. I always assumed I wanted a solitaire with a diamond band like you, or a plain band but blingy wedding band. Turns out a solitaire wasnt quite right but I loved three stones! i have the same finger size as you and also thought 1ct was too big for me, but you might try one and love the size.  I’d say go for a 2 or 2.5mm band, the just look better on smaller fingers

theeebride007:  I can’t agree more with what PP said about trying on different ring styles. Often, what you’ve always dreamed of having as your engagement ring just doesn’t look right on your hand. Or, you find you love something else more. In my case, I always wanted a solitaire as I love that classic sort of look. It turned out solitaires don’t look quite right on my fingers. So now I know I need something with a “more blingy” type of setting, in general.

Good luck with your ring hunt! I hope you have a fantastic and fun time with it. 🙂
