anyone have any interesting/unique ideas for what to give my shower hostess? i’ll be traveling, so not looking to bring them a plant or anything. have thought about giving a spa gift certificate or similar, but then i feel like that is kind of just like giving them money. thoughts?
(have 2 showers – one hosted by aunt, another by a 2nd cousin)

did no one give a gift to your hostess? are you supposed to this or am i mistaken? i’ve only seen it done once, so perhaps that was an exception.

Yes, you should give your shower hostesses a gift to say thank you for hosting the shower. I got mine some monogrammed dinner napkins and some personalized stationery.

I think its a nice gesture but Im not expecting any gifts at the shower Im hosting. I think it would be a nice surprise.
If you decide to do it, I would stick to simple stuff like bath and body works stuff or maybe a gift cert. to bed bath and beyond or maybe even some nice flowers!

I got these really adorable tiny white vases with cute sayings on them and put a few silk flowers in them. I can’t find the website though, but I’ll keep looking.
I also think this is adorable:

I bought my hostesses umbrellas in our wedding colors and wrote a little note that included the saying “I hope your “showers” are as nice as mine”. 🙂

very cute idea @sara! I am getting my sister (my Matron and shower hostess) a punch bowl set, pretty fitting for her because she likes to throw parties so I know she will get some use out of it.

I had a hard time with this too…I decided to bake goodies for my (nine!) hostesses. A bit easier on the wallet and something they would appreciate.

Honestly, I forget what I gave my MOH for hosting my shower, though I know I got her something.
I recently just hosted a shower for my MOH (who’s now the bride, haha), and she gave me a beautiful makeup bag as a gift. I had been telling her only a few weeks before that I needed a new makeup bag and wanted to get one before her wedding so I could easily transport all my makeup, so the bag was the PERFECT gift.

I got a bracelet for one hostess and a windchime for another – I’ve had friends give table linens, bath and body gifts, jewelry, etc. Just think about what they’d like – pretend its just a regular gift, not a shower hostess gift – see what comes to mind.

Does the hostess gift apply only to those who host the shower at their home? Or do you provide a hostess gift to the person who planned your shower and had it at a restaurant or some other venue? I feel like a bad bride for not knowing this!

I did the monogrammed umbrella idea too, as well as gifts of bath and body stuff – both work with the ‘hope your next shower is as sweet as mine was’ tagline!
I also thought about doing Godiva chocolates and things like that – everyone loves treats!
