IMHO, I don't like it when bridesmaids are all wearing the same shoe... it's very Stepford. I think it's really common for bridesmaids to wear different shoes within the same category and even sheos that are completely different!
We are day twins, and I'm also having an outdoor wedding (let's cross our fingers for nice weather!) and I'm letting my BMs wear shoes that a) are comfortable, b) look awesome, and c) show off their personalities.
I am just saying white or silver to my BMs and the girls can wear whatever shoe they want!
I personally don't like when the BM's are wearing different colors. But that's just me. Although my BM's are wearing all different looking shoes, they're just silver. No one really pays much attention to the shoes though, so don't stress about it. I think I'd rather make it comfortable (financially) for your BM's than to be too concerned with how the shoes will look.
Mine bm's having floor length dresses and so I am having them wear whatever color peep toe patten leather heel they want!!! I think its becoming increasingly popular to not have them wearing the exact same shoe. IMO it allows them to add a bit of their own to a chosen dress....
I would recommend that they don't have to all wear the same shoes, but pick a color and ask them all to get shoes in the same color, but in their preferred style and price range. Silver, black, white, whatever matches. Between shoe stores and the amazing selection online (amazon, zappos, piperlime, etc) I'm sure you could find a nice compromise.
I say same color, but no reason for the same shoe. Everyone in my bridal party are wearing different shoes in silver. I have no idea what they even look like.
I agree that they should all be the same color, but don't have to be the same shoes. I ultimately asked my girls to all get the same shoes because 2 of the 3 were planning on wearing the same pair. I didn't like their shoes, but they were all thrilled.
I asked my BM to get strappy, heeled gold shoes. then showed them two example of what i was meaning..

okay bees. I am having an outdoor May wedding, with 4 Bridesmaids. They have all already bought their dresses. Two of the BMs are my sisters, they want to get the dyeable shoes at Davids Bridal and have them dyed, but they are priced steep. The other 2 BM's are friends of mine, and I don't want to ask them to buy these expensive shoes. Would it look tacky if they all werent wearing the same shoes??
