I am writing this post because I need advice. Please share own experiences if relevant.
I’m just going to cut to the chase.. I think I may be pregnant. I am currently on BCP (Yasmin) and I take them properly everyday. Fiance and I are generally quite careful as it is not the best timing for us to have a little one at the moment (although I can’t promise that we have been AS careful as we have could be…)
Just some background: Last September I had symptoms of being very tired, having very sore breasts and extreme nausea (to the point that I could not eat anything). I went to the doctor and found out we were 7 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage.
Anyway, we are over that difficult time now and things are really looking up for us! We have booked our wedding for 2014, our engagement party is only a week away and we have just bought our first home together! We are currently re-decorating which is keeping us very busy. Anyway
back to the point of my post, I am concerned because the last few days I have been feeling very nauseas and my breasts are aching. (No where near to the extreme of last September but the symptoms are still there) – although I haven’t felt overly tired like last time. I don’t really know what to make of this… Is it just a coincidence or could this be another pregnancy?
Like I said, I am on BCP and my placebo week doesn’t start for another two weeks… and since I have been on the pills I haven’t really had any cramps/period related issues. I have read a lot of stories about women getting pregnant while on the pill.. I know the only way I can tell is to take a test but I just wanted to hear your opinions/inputs/experiences first.
Thank you 🙂

I got pregnant on the pill after being snowed in at a my bf’s house for three days (which was no where NEAR my pills). I had nausea, sore breasts and missed my period.
At the same time, since that time, I ALWAYS am paranoid if my breasts are tender or if I am nauseated near my period. I panic, I buy a bunch of First Responses and take one every few days. I can’t sleep, I can’t eat and…. I haven’t been pregnant since.
Is there a chance you are pregnant? For sure. It also might be your mind playing tricks on you, knowing that you have had similar (but worse) symptoms before.

This is tough to say because sometimes you get sore breasts when getting your period. But, you are still two weeks away from that, which would make me think you are possibly 4-6 weeks pregnant, if you are. Sore breasts and nausea are commonly felt 10 days from ovulation. When you had your last period was it light?
In any case, you should be able to buy a OTC pregnancy test and see something, and also book a doctor appt right away.
There is ALWAYS a chance you could get pregnant on the pill. I did, and I know others who have, it is not 100% foolproof!
To me, it doesn’t make sense that the symptoms you are experiencing are happening now, unless it is your pill actually causing some of the symptoms.

Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it.
@fivemonthsnotice: What do you mean when you say you are confused that I am feeling these ‘symptoms’ now? Is it too early? Wrong time? Sorry I am just confused.. can anyone clear that up for me?

@kfiorita: I meant it in a good way..if your placebo week is 2 weeks away…you are what, ten days after your period…was your last period light? You could be four weeks pregnant right now…so what I am saying is, experiencing sore breasts mid-cycle is uncommon, unless it is the pill doing that…but if it hasn’t before, you could be pregnant.

I’m not on the pill anymore but when I was I was (and still am!) the world worse for worrying that I’m preggo when I get “signs” but I’ve found over the years that a womans body will change the way it reacts to the hormone changes in your body, so while it doesn’t seem like your “normal” body behaviour it is still “normal”
Usually I’d say chances of you being pregnant while on the pill are very slim, but in this case there is nothing else to say but take a test and go from there.

Why not take a test???? How would the Internet know?

@mamadingdong: I agree. Don’t worry until you take a test.

@kfiorita: I got pregnant while on the pill. I wasn’t really at my “ideal” place in life where I wanted to get pregnant. I found out after being late and taking the pregnancy test. The husband was very supportive, which made me happy about the situation.
I am sure everything will work out great for you if you are pregnant or your not.

I got pregnant on the pill and Fiance and I were not in a stable position to be raising a baby. Things turned around after she was born though and I don’t regret having her here! 🙂 So the pill isn’t fool proof and even being used like it should doesn’t mean it can’t happen.

ALLLLLLL GOOOOOD everyone 🙂
I took a digital and is clearly says NOT PREGNANT.
As soon as I took the test my body suddenly relaxed and the nausea just vanished! Omg…. please don’t play tricks on me again body 😛
