Looking for some input. We changed our venue and now I am thinking the color scheme that I had picked out really doesn’t go. Our first room was on the water, and had more of a fun vibe so I had picked black and malibu (an aqua color from Davids Bridal). Our new room is at a country club and seems a bit more elegant to me, very netural colors. The centerpeices I have purchased are a white hanging candle with hanging jewels. I know I want the main color to be black, but am thinking the accent color shouldn’t be the blue and maybe be something more elegant like a champage. Looking for advice and sugguestions! Here are some pics of the room:

I would honestly keep the blue. Maybe darken the shade, but yeah, blue is fine!

This venue is absolutely beautiful! I think the champagne would be far more elegant than malibu (not my favourite colour to begin with)
Black & Champagne!!

Beautiful venue! I am partial to blue since blue, orange and green are my colors. So who says you can’t have all three: champagne, black and blue (with hints of one of them so it won’t overpower). Maybe the shade of blue can change but if you’re set on two colors I think champagne and black will definitely fit the classic elegant theme. But hints of blue might liven it up.
Heres an idea:

I would probably change the colors.

I love the idea of Champagne and Black! The venue is beautiful! If you had your heart set on some accents of blue it would still look pretty but I would pick a darker shade…

I think champagne will blend in with the colors of the venue and will not stand out or pop. Black will be the only color that stands out. Maybe malibu blue on its own is not as elegant but at least it would stand out as opposed to blending in as a neutral. Maybe select a different shade of blue like a pp suggested. However, IMO if your malibu blue dresses etc. are of an elegant style they will certainly go with your elegant venue.

I’d definitely change from malibu 🙂 What color is that fireplace? I’d use that color, it looks gorgeous!

I love the black and champagne, would really go with the elegance of the room.

Ooh black and champagne would be so lovely maybe even black and tan or gold… they all would match the room lovely!

Tiffany blue would be a more elegant shade of blue… I think that would be really classy with the black. Add silver as a second accent color to jazz it up 🙂

Drooling over your venue!! I agree with PP’s about nixing the malibu. I abosolutely love the photo above of the place setting. I think it is elegant and vibrant.

Thanks ladies! You all have been so helpful! I am thinking its time to get rid of the blue. Not that it didnt look great its just not going to look great in that room. I have only bought some flip flops so i am in the clear money wise. The chairs are all gold, the walls are a cream tanish-ish and the carpet and curtains are almost a sage. I was thinking that if I wanted a bit of fun, but keep the elegance I could pull the sage color. What do you think?

LOVE the sage. Completely gorgeous!
