I went dress shopping yesterday and could NOT decide between three dresses! I need some opinions!

The first dress was incredibly flattering, but I wanted lace and a vintage style and it had neither.

The second dress was my top choice going in and possibly my top choice going out (I keep waffling). Oh yeah, ignore the crease across the hips; the salesperson got a little carried away with the tight hip clamping!

The third dress was GORGEOUS but I hated all the bling across the waistline/rib cage. But I loved the dress anyway.

So I love all three, they are all outstanding, but they all have drawbacks. Keeping in mind that pictures aren't perfect and the dresses don't actually fit, do any of them stand out to you more than the others?

i think the lace strapless, straight neckline is the most flattering on you. and i normally don't like bling, but i think the pattern is actually very pretty!

The second dress is really flattering on your body.

Oh oh, I LOVE #3!!!! It's totally vintage, and if you REALLY hate the waist bling, you can always have the alterations person take it off. :)

The second dress is really flattering on you but I really love the laced strapped dress. I don't know why but it just screams at me.

Of the three, I like the third one best - I think it's more flattering, but that could just be a trick of the camera.

About the bling - maybe the seamstress could find a way to take some of it off? I think it makes a great contribution to the dress, personally. But ultimately, you're the one who has to feel great in it and love it!

    Good luck!

First of all, you look great in all of them. But the two lace dresses are my favorites. The strapless lace looks most vintage to me.

Oh gosh, they are all beautiful!  I don't think you can go wrong here.

Now my personal opinion about dresses with vertical lines down the skirt (second dress) is that they accentuate hip width, so I'm not a huge fan (though it is a gorgeous dress).  I also don't love how it cuts straight across the chest.  So I don't think #2 is the most flattering on you.

Between #1 and #3, I'm having a hard time deciding.  They both look fabulous.

If they are "all outstanding, but all have their drawbacks", maybe it means you haven't found the right one yet. When I had a problem deciding between dresses, I kept looking and eventually found a dress that was head and shoulders above the others.  But I do think that you have really great choices here!

It doesn't hurt that you have a great figure for wedding dresses!

I voted for #2, but only if you alter the neckline.  You look so much better, imo, with a neckline that shows off a little more of your... assets... like the third dress.  :)

I didn't actually hate the waist bling *that* much ;). It was just really, really heavy and not what I originally thought I wanted. It was nice to have the extra definition, though, bceause that dress is *super* unforgiving!

I think #2 with the lace from #3 is what you want!!!! I prefer #3's lace but #2's style. BUT, make #2 a sweetheart. WAy more flattering since you've got a ncie hourglass figure.

Although I think #1 is SMOKING on your body!

Well it looks like the internet contingent (here and at my blog) vote for lace and v-neck, the mom contingent votes for strapless satin, and the bridesmaids vote goes to lace strapless. Need some dress help! : wedding dress gown fitting allure Icon Razz I totally appreciate all of the opinions, and I guess I'll keep trying on dresses to see if anything else is "perfect."

Honestly, number 2 is my least favorite. I don't like the vertical.

I love the sheen of number 1, but the neckline of number 3 looks a lot better for your body type. Because of this and the fact that you said you wanted lace and vintage style, my vote is for number 3!

I agree with the comment above.  I'm not fond of the lines in the dress in #2.  I still like #1 or #3.

Oh, and if you love the look of #3, but are not fond of the bling... why not the gorgeous Jim Hjelm? You look like a Jim Hjelm bride.

*****Marigold**** All of them are beautiful but I think the 3rd one works best with your figure.  You have a very long torso like I do and unfortunely the second ones waist band (at least that what it looks like)sits too low for us long torso gals.  Not sure if you agree but after the bridal consultant helped with dresses I saw exactly what she was talking about. But it is YOUR day so you should wear what YOU like, you sure don't have to follow the rules! :)Need some dress help! : wedding dress gown fitting allure Icon Biggrin

@dereksbride2b: I think that comment just sealed it up for me. I couldn't think of what it was that I wasn't loving about #2. I didn't think of myself as having a long torso, exactly, but I do think of myself as having hips a bit on the larger side and the line is just in the wrong place!

Thanks everyone for your advice! I think I'm going with #3, but I'm going to check around just a little more first. ;) I'll post pictures when I get my dress!

    The second one.

It is stunning, and very elegant. it's also has the most vintage look to it. The first and second show your curves in a very good way. My FI even thinks it looks great. The Third one doesn't seem to flow right on you.

Thanks everyone! I'm definitely between Dresses 2 and 3 at this point, and I am going to check into lowering the straight neckline on 2 or making it into a sweetheart, more like Dress 1 (it's just too high right now, which I think is the one thing that is still leaving me iffy on it). Decisions, decisions!

For me the second one is no-question the best. And it has the most vintage styling, which you said you wanted. I really don't like the third one, because I don't enjoy that waist bling. The first one is cute.

I voted for 2 (the hip line didn't bother me) but now i think i changed my mind to three also lol. the lace is definitely really gorgeous and vintage looking, but i would see what i could do about getting rid of that bling. I'm not a fan.

No question, #3. It's unique and lovely and extremely flattering. The other two look great on you, too, but I'm just personally so bored with strapless dresses. :-)
