Hey ladies – soooo I need some inspiration! I just created another post with a dress I found at JCrew...but I'm thinking it may be too spring for my fall wedding.

I asked the fiancé what elements would be in his ideal wedding dress. I’m definitely not asking him to dress me for the wedding but I would like to find dress that he will like too.

He said he likes clean lines but for the dress to have a bit of texture…could be lace or appliqué? He doesn’t like beading or crystals and nothing with lots of ruffles or too poofy. It’s funny cause what he said pretty much falls right in line with what I have been looking at. I def don’t want a big poofy ball gown but I also don’t want a skin tight mermaid dress…BUT I also don’t want a dress that is a drastic A-line…lol! So I am at a complete loss as to what to look for? Maybe an empire?

     To recap….

YES: Clean lines, empire, texture, appropriate for an outdoor Oct. wedding in NH

    NO: Ruffles, poof, bling, tulle

    HELLLLPPP! ;)

Take a look at Watters and WToo. Here's the WToo Celestine:

Also there is a thread where bees posted there dresses with no beading that you might get some ideas from:

You're welcome! They have a lot of dresses with no bling and no poof. BTW, I love the White Mtns of New Hamshire. It's so beautiful up there. FI is from Maine. With my thin AZ blood, I'd need a faux fur cape in Oct. Haha!

I just want to second the recommendation for WToo dresses!  They have a lot of non-fussy and modern dresses.  I also felt like they were great quality for the price.

I tried on the Natalia and loved it.  It was my dress runner-up :)

One thing I would say about the Natalia is that I felt the dress was heavier and a bit more structured than it looked in the picture.  I felt like in the pic it appeared more loose and flowy...so that might work well for your fall wedding.

I really like the Carmella and the Rosalyn. Hope to see your pics after you try them on!

I really like the Natalia & Rosalyn too. They look a little more substantial and appropriate for October where you live. You might even need some kind of wrap or bolero if the weather turns suddenly. Freezing is just as bad as sweating on your wedding day!

Does anyone know what I can expect to spend on a WTOO dress? Even a ballpark figure would be helpful! Thanks!!

I think they run from about $700 up to a little over 1K.  You can get them cheaper if you order from Netbride.com.

Mine was $770. I haven't done alterations yet, but I don't think it will be more than $150. I'm wearing WToo Clarissa.

I wish I would have ordered from netbride.com I was not very happy with my salon. They didn't even steam or press the dress for me:( I'm sure I would have saved a ton of $$ with netbride.

I wore the  WTOO Carmella in ivory (which was a very light shade of ivory) for my September wedding.  It was very comfortable and I recieved so many compliments on how nice it was.  It was priced around $1100. I loved the Watters and Wtoo dresses!

By the way.... I read that you are getting married in NH? I bought my dress from Madelienes in Portsmouth, NH and they had a huge selection of Watters and WTOO.

    Good Luck!
