Don’t give up! 8 months is a lot of time! Maybe join a website like myfitness pal? There is a wedding bee group! A couple of bad days is just a little speed bump! Keeo moving! You can do it!

The biggest thing you have to remember is that it is a slow process.  You didn’t gain the weight overnight and it isn’t going to fall off overnight either.  As you said, you’ve been gaining it for 8 years.  Now that isn’t to say that it will take 8 years to lose it again but it isn’t all going to be gone after just 2 months of active work either.  I’d say 16 lbs in 2 months is great!  That’s about 2 lbs a week which is really about the fastest you should be trying to lose weight if you want to be doing it the right way.

Congrats on your progress so far! You can totally keep it up for the next 8 months and lose so much more. You’ve established the healthy habits now and just need to keep at it! That sucks that your mom set a goal for you and then it ended up changing, but it should help reinvigorate your dedication! 😉

Those darn wedding dresses!  I think you are doing great, just don’t get too discouraged when you slip up.  It happens to everyone and you just get back on the horse and do better the rest of the day, or the next day.

@BHB0526:  You can totally do this.  8 months is plenty of time.  Have you thought about joining a fitness class?  I have a class I go to that’s only offered twice a year (early fall and late winter).  It’s only 10 weeks long but I love it and see results.  It has the cardio and strength training that we all need to tone up and lose weight.

My advice is that weight loss is 80% what you eat and 20% exercise.  So if you eat clean meaning if it has a long self life it isn’t good for you.  Eat fresh or frozen fruits and veggies, lean meats, whole grains.  If you must have a snack Skinny Cow Ice Cream is a great low fat way to get a treat.  And even better is their ice cream sandwiches and truffle bars are pretty big.

So if you eat healthy and walk or jog 5 days a week for at least an hour you should be good.  Ideally strength training at least 3 days a week would help speed things up too but remember ANY form of exercise most days of the week is better than nothing.

@BHB0526:  Unfortunately a lot of people do that.  My motto is if it has more than 7 ingredients and you can’t pronounce half of them its not real food.  I have my weaknesses with food too.  I mean who wants an apple when you can have a brownie lol.  But honestly when you eat clean you feel better.
