I agree with you that the front is lacking... I also agree that its due to the fact that your hair couldn't hold the curl. I think your solution of putting curl defining cream and letting it air dry might be best. I would also recommend a product with a light/med hold to it so that your hair has more "grip" to it - that helps when doing formal styes.
I think if she could get it to curl more your that will make it a lot better!
Will they let you go in for another trial with your hair in its natural curly state... to see how you like it after that?
Well, the wedding is only 8 days away and we aren't getting married in the town we live in..it's about 1 1/2 hrs away so..another trial isn't really an option.
I bought some of this last night:
http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100650&navAction=jump&navCount=1&skuid=sku879245&id=prod879257
Hopefully this'll work okay.
I'm just not sure about the part in the front...does it go too far back? Is it too far to one side or not far enough? Should I do a diagonal kind of part like my MOH's sister?
Ack!
If I were you I would just do a part in the very front and no have a part going back... does that make sense?
That mouse seems like it would work... its a strong hold so I would only use a small amount so your hair is still workable and not too stiff.
Good Luck!
Yeah I think I'll test it out tonight and see how it does...I had no idea which mousse to get at the store yesterday so I finally just grabbed that one and said to heck with it!
Does anyone know of a good curl defining mousse for someone with fine hair that is naturally wavy but not curly?
I see what you mean. The problem seems to be that you dont have enough "pouf" it the front. it seems to lie flat. I agree with a previous poster about doing a part only in front and then combing the rest back for a poof. Have her tease the hair underneath as well. Right now it's looking a little librarian-y.
I love the back, but agree the front is lacking also... I would so a smoother laying bang in the front. I think the curl in the front it was is throwing me :)
@frenchbulldog So are you saying have a section in front that isn't curly?
Try the Redken Thickening Lotion 06 Body Buildier - Its great for textured fine hair to give control and shine, definition and body.
I think sticking with your original plan but Not having your part go all the way back. Instead allow it to have more movement with the curls and give more body. I would keep the front a wavy soft pull back- like your sisters.
I *almost* bought one of the redken mousses yesterday but I'm a cheap-ass when it comes to hair products. lol
I'm going to try the garnier stuff tonight and see what happens!
Julie do you think that the part should still go straight or do you like the sorta diagonal one in the photos of my MOH's sister?
I think the part should be at an angle like your MOH's Sister's ,but not go as far back. The part should stop at the middle of the top of your head and then the rest can just be pulled back. that would give you more body (not pulled back smooth, but with those waves like your MOH's sis)
Its too smooth. The other girl's hair has way more texture in the front and not so tight. I'm almost 100% positive thats the problem.
if you are still looking for mousse for wavy hair, I like tresemme curl enhancing mousse - it's only $3 or so and works great! good luck -

Alrighty so, I've had 2 hair trials. I was more pleased with the 2nd one, but still not 100% sold.
My hair is naturally wavy but I straighten it every day. I also have very fine hair. I had straightened it the morning of the day I had the 2nd hair trial, so she struggled in getting it to curl and hold it.
If you go to this link, you can see photos:

I like the back, but there's something about the front that I just don't like. It may just be the fact that the curl factor isn't there. I'm going to try and help this by washing my hair the night before, putting some curl defining mousse in it, and letting it air dry and then sleep on it. This should help out a bit.
ALSO see below for a photo of the front of my hair from the 2nd trial if ya don't wanna go to the link, and then a few photos of my MOH's sister's hair at her wedding.
Should I bring in these photos of my MOH's sister and show them to my stylist on the wedding day? What do you think of where the part is in my hair vs. the part in her hair?
Thanks in advance!
