- Wedding: August 2013
I’m planning to do my hair myself for my wedding, and while I’m fairly adept at vintage styles – rolls, pin curls, etc – I’m not sure that’s the direction I want to go for my wedding. I’m used to pinning everything back and spraying it into submission because I go dancing in a fairly athletic way (Lindy Hop!) something I can easily tuck up for the latter dancing portion. I’ve got my updos covered!
I have long hair with ombre highlights, and bangs. I would like to wear my hair in some variation of half up, because I photograph a lot better with hair hangnign down, and also, I just feel prettier!
I have a comb veil and a delicate pearl headband, but I’m thinking I’d rather replace that with a hair flower (or an elaborate system of hair flowers).
For reference, my dress is the one pictured on the bride here: http://iloveswmag.com/2012/07/10/simple-alabama-wedding-with-colorful-bridesmaid-dresses/, and I’ll be wearing it with a dark cream/light coffee colored satin sash and these shoes: http://l3.zassets.com/images/z/1/4/0/1/5/7/1401571-3-MULTIVIEW.jpg
My bouquet will be peach roses, white and cream flowers, and silvery-grey greenery. For jewelry, I’ll probably be wearing a small gold fleur de lis pendant and matching earrings. The ceremony will be outdoors, in a garden by the river, and the theme for the evening is loosely vintage and rivery – lots of lace and lanterns and tea stained paper and drift wood and natural stones, with an amazing gypsy jazz band. I don’t know if these details help at all!
Thank you so much in advance!
