Diamond84:  I don’t have any bag suggestions, just make sure you know for sure she’d really want one. My SIL got one for my mom as a thank you and my mom is embarassed to carry it around because she thinks it’s too expensive and that her friends will think she’s materialistic.

I’m planning on getting my mum a mulberry bag or purse for her 70th birthday (in 2 years). Mulberry bags are GORGEOUS. They are made in the Uk though so I don’t know if they are expensive to import.

I just got my mom a Michael Kors black bag and matching wallet today for her bday. It was a bit under $600.

My MIL has a quilted Chanel bag she bought in the 80s and it’s STILL in style. I’d really recommend a bag like that, because they are somewhat timeless and I don’t think they are too “young” or hipster, you know? And I’d stick with black or another neutral color, since other colors are hard to match and go in and out of style.

Chanel is lovely but I don’t think you can buy anything for 1k. LV has some classic styles (like the speedy) that you can get for around that price.

Of course! This is it, wearable with everything! Looks very nice in person.

I would go for LV Favourite or Eva clutch.  My mom just got Eva a little while ago and really likes it.  It’s casual, but can be dressy too.

Diamond84:  Dooney and Bourke is a good option, in my opinion.

linnylou_88:  Diamond84:  I second the Mulberry suggestion. They are very classic, timeless bags and are not at all flashy or trendy. I’ve been eyeing one for awhile for work.

I love the LV carryall for casual everyday wear. I would check out prada, Valentino and ferragamo as well but you might have a difficult time finding something under $1000.
