I am getting married in 5 short weeks- Yippie- and need to find a good waterproff mascara.   I know for a fact that I will be crying a majority of the ceremony and probably before it starts as I get ready to walk down the aisle with my dad.  Any one have any suggestions of the best ones out there.   I would prefer to not have to pay too much either if possible.

Thanks girls!  Need some help girls! : wedding waterproff mascara wedding day makeup Icon Biggrin

I bought a bunch of makeup and DIY-ed for the wedding, and the technician who taught me to go my makeup said that regular mascara is better (with the fancy white base layer) because a) it washes off easily if it does run, but won't run if applied properly over the base and b) it doesn't flake and give you the 'raccoon' look the way that the water proof stuff will.

Dude, this is so crazy because I was *just* logging on to ask the very same question. I haven't had problems with racoon eyes with waterproof mascara...but I have trouble finding one that isn't too sticky and dry. Looking forward to seeing some suggestions as to types to try!

I'd be cool with a regular mascara too if it survived a crier's nuptials!

I used Bourjois Paris "pump up the volume" waterproof mascara.

It was about $15 from Sephora.  I didn't really cry at all on my wedding day, but I do get watery eyes when I'm nervous and tired and this mascara held up all day (like until 3 am).

I should add that I did cry during my ceremony (hell, everyone did) and the mascara (from clinique) held up nicely.

It may not be the fanciest mascara, but I have used Maybelline's Lash Extension waterproof mascara for years (in the light blue bottle). I wore it when I got engaged and trust me I was crying like a baby and that stuff didn't budge. I even took some pictures immediately after his proposal and there was not one mascara smudge. Good luck in your choice!
