The jam sounds wonderful. Who says favors have to match your theme or colors? I've never heard that anywhere.
That's a good point. It's probably just my OCD kicking in. I'm one of those everything-must-match-always kinda girls. I HAVE considered making lemon curd instead of jam, though...

The little bottles of wine would be nice, or else the jam.

I think jam is a fine favor but agree with other posts that they don't need to match your colors!

Lemon curd, Lemon marmalade or grape/blueberry jam would be awesome!! Or what about small bottles of wine? Or making your own limoncello (I saw it recently on stylemepretty)! Or what about pie in a jar from DIYbride.com... do it with lemon merangue pie or maybe cupcake in a jar with lemon cakes? Or what about violet colored soap with like a scent you like?
I love thinking of cool favor ideas, it's always so fun to think of :)
... yeah, I was totally expecting a post about where to find bulk handcuffs or massage oil... wandering off to wash my brain out with soap...
I was daydreaming of phallic soaps to recommend as a party favor and i was thinking, "man this is some SUPER fancy bachelorette party!" hahahaha.
Candies are always a popualr choice. Lemon and violet....hmmmm. WHat about something lemon-lavendar flavored? I once had a lemon-lavendar scented kitchen plug in and it smelled divine! You could do lavendar infused limoncello in little bottles if you were feeling extra fancy. Limoncello is a liquor so it'd be very "adult" (lol) and it sounds like a sophisticated flavor
You could do grape jam if you wanted it to match...I love the idea of a betta in your center pieces! Of course I was expecting something a lot dirtier. My mind is aweful! lol.
ejs - i have a lemon-lavendar Yankee Candle in the bathroom. It is fantastic! I'd love a little candle as a favor

The limoncello (sp?) is a GREAT idea! I want to do something homemade so I can share one of my real loves with everybody-- baking and cooking. My other loves, knitting and reading, aren't as easily shown wedding-wise...
Plus my fiance is a cook too, until his army career kicks in. We're both foodies, so it'll work out nicely, I think. If anybody knows any good recipe sites, clue me in! I cannot find a dry lemonade mix to save my life!!!
What I did... I got mini vases, each one with a pair of 3 inch bamboo plants and tied them together with a bow. You can do whatever gravel color you want. If you make it yourself it is really affordable. And guess what.. guests will love them and actually keep them.

The basics: my colors are Lemon and Violet
My centerpieces: tall square vase with rocks in and a betta fish [purple] and, possibly, a white orchid, small square votive holders with yellow candles in them
My placecards: river stones with handpainted names
KIDS favors: small metal buckets with river rock candies (have you seen these? They look just like real stones) and maybe some fish or worm shaped ones too, if I can find really nice ones (ie. not just gummies)
ADULTS favors... I just don't know. Some thoughts I have are a small mason jar of a lemonade mix (cause it's yellow, ya know), bottles of wine or champagne, or maybe jars of homemade strawberry jam....Which doesn't match my theme OR colors, but tastes amazing.
Lesigh. Any suggestions?
