Love winter weddings. The only place that really comes to mind off the top of my head is the Redfield Estate at the Grove in Glenview. Good luck.

Check out Garfield Conservatory. It’s not cabin-like, but it is unique, toasty warm, and rustic. We had our reception there and it was awesome!

Have you looked into any avilable City/state/federal halls/pavillions? Here in Milwaukee, the place I’m getting married has a bit of a lodgy feel, and I toured two other places with definate lodge feels (and here the hall rentals are Cheap!). Maybe the Chicagoland area has similar buildings?

Okay, plugging my own venue here, but check out Salvage One. It’s downtown (most of our family is from Elgin/St. Charles area) but usually the expressways are cleared the fastest, and there are plenty of hotels & public transportation if people want to be snowed in for the night. It’s not exactly cabin-y, but there’s lots of gorgeous wood and it has a cozy yet edgy feel.
