Tanzanite in a ring isn’t a good idea as its relatively soft so will scratch easily. Sapphires would probably be a better option for longevity, and sapphires come in a wide range of colours, including pretty much every hue of blue imaginable so if she’s after a violet blue like tanzanite you can mimic that colour in a sapphires. I love a cushion cut too and violet blue cushion with a white diamond halo would look beautiful (think Kate Middleton esque but square and a slightly different blue)

I’ve been looking at sapphires of late from a collectors point of view and am pleasently surprised at the amount of variation and the purse friendly prices when compared with diamonds ๐Ÿ™‚

I just think that how I gave information nonchalantly didn’t really give the overall ‘feel’ I wanted for the ring. And, it’s been passed through how many sources? (Maybe I just kind of wish I had more input on my own…?)

Edit: also sounds like she and I have simliar tastes. Instead of going to jewelry stores – do you guys have an Antique Fair? I think he would have a lot of luck there. I died at almost everything they showed me. I also like yellow gold (regardless of how out of fashion it is), antique, sapphires, etc. I ended up with a three stone with two sapphire sidestones. I love it now because he did it with his heart, but its not the one I would have picked.
